(Minneapolis, Minn.) Western National Insurance Group today announced that, after more than a decade of serving Western National’s agents and policyholders in commercial property claims, Dan “Danny” W. Anderson, Jr. will utilize his insurance expertise and his leadership skills in its Commercial Lines Underwriting Department as Vice President – Commercial Lines Underwriting. This promotion is effective immediately.
Danny started his career in insurance in 1997 at Liberty Mutual Insurance in commercial lines liability claims. In 2001, he moved to United Fire Group, where he spent seven years as a Multi-Line Commercial Adjuster. In 2008, Danny joined Western National and assumed a series of successive management roles, most recently serving as Assistant Vice President – Property Claims. In addition to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Justice Studies from Arizona State University, Danny is a graduate of the NICB Special Investigation School and has attained his Associate in Claims designation from The Institutes.
“Western National has a close relationship between our Underwriting and Claims departments,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer Richard Kalina. “This connection often occurs with Danny on our most complex losses. It would be fair to say that Danny knows our coverages as well as any underwriter, since he has had to interpret and apply policy provisions to various losses. He has seen the risks and exposures that we underwrite in order to put our policyholders’ lives back together after a loss. Danny’s real-life experience and service, together with his leadership skills, will serve us, our agents, and our policyholders well in this new role.”
